According to a recent article published in the Nashville Business Journal, the east bank of the Cumberland River might be changing in the near future. Looking to capitalize on the growth of East Nashville, TN home sales, and seeing the success of areas such as The Gulch and Germantown, developer Don Allen has made public plans to develop 60 acres of the east bank.

The area lies on the east bank of the Cumberland River, just north of LP Field, and stretches from I-65 down about 3/4 of the way to Spring St. This location will obviously allow great access to downtown, with an access road that leads to Spring St. and the Jefferson St. bridge, and also in the plans is a water taxi. It is also just across the river from Germantown and the new Nashville Sounds baseball stadium.

The area will feature about 2,000 residences in apartments and condos, restaurants, 1.9 million square feet of office space, a music studio and green spaces. The new residences and office space will serve the amazing growth that has catapulted Nashville up the list as one of the fastest growing metro areas in the nation.

Although no date was given for proposed building to start, within the next couple of weeks, Allen will be filing a request to change the zoning to allow for the density.
